The Microsoft 70-243 Exam 70-243 consists of the following eight objectives, which are weighted in terms of importance given to each objective:
- Designing and Planning System Center Configuration Manager Infrastructure (13%)
This section includes the following topics: understanding the system requirements and prerequisites of the software; understanding the concepts of CAs, branch cache, System Center Configuration Manager server architecture, DNS records, planning and administering security on PKI, HTTP, NZP; understanding business continuing plan, disaster recovery plan and site maintenance plan.
- Managing Operating System Deployment (OSD) (12%)
This section tests the candidates’ ability to use System Center Configuration Manager for managing operating system; administer OSD environment including configuration of WDS and PXT; creating and capturing images; managing images.
- Deploying Applications and Software Updates (14%)
Topics covered in this section are: understanding the types of deployment, deployment applications including compliance setting and task sequences; monitoring application deployment which includes log files, Content Library, distribution point groups, etc.; creating and monitoring software updates including creating deployment packages, log files and update groups; deploying FEP clients with the help of System Center Configuration Manager, etc.
- Manage Compliance Settings (11%)
In order to answer questions from this section, candidates need to be familiar with the following concepts: Configuration Item (CI) including creating, setting and importing a CI; baseline including creating and configuring a custom baseline.
